Charles Grant is a person you can sit with. Grants & Co Consultants is not a call-center mill and not a “we fix credit — sign up now” page.
Credit consulting, here, means a one-to-one look at your file, a written sense of what is inaccurate versus accurate, and a plan that includes the house — credit, documents, and the number a lender will actually use. It does not mean a guaranteed deletion, a guaranteed score, or a guaranteed approval. Results vary. Charles does not underwrite.
If you already know you want the file work itself, go to credit optimization. This page is the engagement: who he is, how the conversation works, and how this is different from generic repair.
Counseling, repair, and consulting are not the same search
People type three different sentences:
- “I need credit counseling” — usually guidance, a budget, a human who will not yell.
- “I need credit repair” — help reviewing inaccurate reporting, collections, late payments, and lender feedback.
- “I need a credit consultant” — usually someone who will look, tell the truth, and not vanish into a portal.

Observed fact: nonprofit HUD counseling is a different product. OriginSC and CCCS already serve that query in the region. Grants & Co is not claiming HUD counselor status on this page.
What the first conversation actually is
You do not need to perform a 40-field application to say hello. You do not need to paste a Social Security number in a first message. Charles would rather you send the item type — a collection, a denial letter, a joint file, a thin file — or bring the reports you already pulled.
In the room (32 Office Park Rd, Hilton Head Island; Bluffton clients come this way too), the work sounds like this:
- What is the door? A house this year, a house next year, a refinance, or something else?
- What did the lender or realtor actually say — score, DTI, documents, overlays, or “does not meet guidelines”?
- What is on the file that is inaccurate, unverifiable, or outdated — versus what is accurate and current?
- What would making this worse look like? New cards, a furniture loan, co-signing, paying a collection the week of the application.
Then he is allowed to say not a fit. That is part of consulting. A mill cannot afford that sentence. A person can.
If a realtor or loan officer sent you, the job is to send you back with a file they can use. Charles is not collecting your buyer. See mortgage readiness for how credit, documents, and DTI sit on one timeline.
A plan is not a promise
A plan, in this practice, is a readiness picture: what we will attempt, what we will not attempt, and that the lender is still the closer.
Accurate, current, verifiable negatives generally stay. That is not a slogan Charles invented to sound ethical. It is how the file works, and it is the opposite of “we wipe your report.” Disputing an item you know is accurate, or filing a false identity-theft report, is not consulting. It is a problem.
Timelines vary because files vary. “How long does this take?” is a real question. The honest answer is: it depends on what is wrong, what is already correct, and whether DTI and documents are the actual blocker. Recent HMDA analyses have listed DTI as a leading stated reason for home-purchase denials — industry observation, not a Grants & Co conversion rate.
Business owners who need an entity file, not a personal mortgage pull, should read business credit. That work is adjacent, not identical.
Who this is for — and who it is not
For: Hilton Head Island and Bluffton buyers who want a named human. People who already tried a dashboard and got more confused. People whose Credit Karma number and lender number do not match. People a realtor described as “not yet.”
Not for: anyone shopping a guaranteed 100-point jump, a CPN, or a company that will “just delete it.” Anyone who wants Charles to lie to a lender. Anyone looking for HUD-approved housing counseling under that legal meaning.
There is a free credit review if you want a first look without turning this into a hard close. Call (678) 343-2314, or start from that page. Contact our team at info@grantandconsultants.com.

FAQ
What does a credit consultant do that a repair mill does not?
A consultant looks at the whole file — including whether the real problem is even credit — and is allowed to tell you no. A mill sells a dispute package and a monthly hope. Charles prepares people for a lender conversation. He does not sell a wipe.
Is credit consulting the same as credit counseling?
Related, not identical. Counseling, on this site, is the existing credit counselling offer. Consulting is the one-to-one strategy conversation this page describes. If you searched “credit counseling near me,” you may want either — or a HUD-approved agency, which we are not claiming to be.
Will you guarantee I’ll get approved after consulting?
No. Charles does not underwrite mortgages. A cleaner or clearer file is not a yes from a lender. Overlays, DTI, reserves, and the property still exist.
Do I have to dispute everything on my report?
No. Disputing accurate items, or starting a dispute the week you apply, can create its own underwriting problem. Consulting includes what not to touch.
Can business owners use this, or is it only for a house?
Both. Personal mortgage files and business credit files are different. If the goal is an EIN and reporting tradelines, use business credit. If the goal is a house, stay on the personal file and see homebuyer credit preparation.
